A great place to record music

While rehabbing the previously unused, neglected space into a recording studio, we discovered hundreds of feet of old manila and hemp dock line used by local fishing boats or cargo ships. And it was further noted that the room where we found the rope sounded really good!
That rope was woven into the acoustic and visual aesthetic of the room by local fiber artist and painter Andie Sterling.
The Rope Room is one large room where musicians can make music together. Our collection of modern and vintage ribbon mics give great separation and vibe. Movable baffles help isolate drums, amps, or other instruments. Or totally isolate them in one of our four isolation booths.
A quiet, warm, comfortable space to make your music from start to finish.
Astoria and its surrounding rural coastal towns are a very special place. Life is slower here, the weather can be intense, and the scenery and accommodations are inspiring and nourishing.
We know the budget is tight. We keep our overhead low so your rates are too. Multi-day bookings are preferred. Contact us to discuss your project.
